The Butterfly...

The Butterfly is a symbol for many things; most importantly to me it is a symbol for Lupus, as well as a symbol of transformation and new beginnings.

The symbol for Lupus is the purple butterfly. My hope is that through this blog I am able to talk about Lupus in a way that those that don't know much about it are able to walk away with an awareness of what those who have it are going through. I also want to be a source of support for those of you who have it. My hope is to provide information about the latest in research and treatment, and also what is in the pipeline for what may be happening in the near future. I know how difficult this disease can be, and how at times it can feel incredibly lonely. I hope that through this blog you can find the support you need when you need it, and realize that you are not alone!

Something that I have come to love since my diagnosis is scrapbooking and photography. It has allowed me to get my feelings out in a way that I cant always get out through my words. One great way has been through Project Life, it's been such a great format for me to scrap, even on days when I'm not feeling well! My plan is to post my layouts and photos as I do them, so you can share in my thoughts. I'd also love it if you all would share your layouts as well! The more, the better!
